Gollings Sets Eye On Deans

National sevens coach Ben Gollings has revealed that the recent Vodafone Super Deans competition was good opportunity to view prominent sevens players.
Gollings made the comment in Nadi on Sunday night on the eve of the official opening of the official Swire Shipping Fijian Drua camp in Nadi yesterday.
“I wanted to watch it (Deans finals at Churchill Park, Lautoka) yesterday (Saturday) and obviously understand how big it was,” Gollings said on Sunday night.
“Unfortunately the TV I have doesn’t play the channel but I had a few people whom I’m keeping my eye on.
“Bill Gadolo was there watching; we are always keen to look and identify talent and Deans is a pretty big place to be doing it from a young player’s perspective. I heard it was a very good game.”
Gollings added: “You have new players and you get new challenges.
“We’re in good position, it’s a pretty busy period but sometimes we have to deal with it, that’s some challenges in front of us but we will accept the challenge.”
Gollings said the presence of World Rugby executives in Nadi was fantastic.
“From World Rugby stand point it shows the improvement of Fiji Rugby and what Fiji Rugby can offer to World Rugby.
“We’ve proven to be competitive in all areas and we have displayed it.
“They are here supporting, it helps to give more recognition of the game here.”
