Rethink Strategies, Approach To Maintain Credibility: Dr Turagavou

The Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma general secretary, Dr Semisi Turagavou, says it’s time to rethink about the church’s strategies and approach to maintain its credibility.
Dr Turagavou said as the Methodist Church conference gets underway this week in Suva – a lapse after two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr Turagavou said the church needed to move forward and be the light and salt of the 21st Century.
“It should grow in numbers and members commitments with deeper level of spirituality,” he said.
“We need Christian discipline with honesty in moving the church to another level,” he said.
“The church is currently facing new challenges of this modern era, such as new technologies, changing of life styles, climate change and levels of human segregations.”
“It is time to rethink about our strategies and methods approach in order to maintain the credibility of the church in human organisations.”
“We need to maintain our sense of togetherness and destroy the spirit of egoism,” he said.
Fruitful Week
Meanwhile, church president, Reverend Ili Vunisuwai hoped that the meetings would be fruitful with the prime purpose of fulfilling the Lord’s will.
“I wish to convey my deepest appreciation for your contribution towards the levy which has enabled the office to be in operational to date,” he said.
“This has been possible through the commitment and dedication of the congregation through your able leadership with the respective churches, circuits and divisions,” he said.
