LICI Donates Items To School For The Deaf

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LICI) is celebrating 66 years of its formation with many socially oriented activities.
In the last 2-3 weeks, it has donated groceries to the Old People’s Home at Samabula, Suva and conducted a Blood Donation camp in its office at Suva.
It has also undertaken garbage pick-up activity in Nasinu and will be doing the same at Suva Point.
As part of these activities, last month, members of Team LICI donated mattresses, bed sheets, pillow cases and bath towels to Gospel School for the Deaf and Harland Hostels, Samabula, Suva, which is taking care of children with hearing impairments.

The school is currently managed by a couple from New Zealand, Russell and Sue Neate.
The team from LICI led by the General Manager, Pradeep Shenoy distributed stationary and other items to the children which were purchased from the contributions made by the LICI employees.
Ten Mattresses, bed sheets, pillow cases and towels were handed over to Mr Neate.
The children were delighted to receive the individual gifts which were beautifully packed with names of each child written on them.
Team LICI had also brought a huge cake which was cut by the two youngest inmates and was distributed to all present.
The children performed two items for the LICI guests.
Mr Shenoy spoke briefly to the children through an interpreter who converted words into sign language for the children.
He appreciated the work being done by the couple in taking care of the children who come from all over Fiji.
Mr Neate thanked LICI for this donation. He appreciated the trouble taken by the members of Team LICI for individually packing the gifts and writing the names of each child on them.
