The Rams Cleaning Services/ All Freight Logistics Suva FC’s celebration for winning the 2022 Courts Interdistrict Championship will be held in November.

This was confirmed to SUNsports yesterday by Suva Football Association president Ritesh Pratap.

Suva FC walloped Koromakawa Tours and Rentals/GO 2 Solutions Navua FC 4-0 in the IDC Super Premier final on Monday.

The Capital City side won the country’s prestigious football title after eight years and were $25,000 richer.

“We are planning to have the celebration on the fifth (5th) of November,” Pratap said.

“The prize money will be distributed to the players but how to do it will be decided later.”

“The total prize money and the top ups will be given to the players on the day of the celebration.

“This is a very short week. Next week is Diwali so it’s a busy few weeks.”

Pratap said Suva FC’s next mission is to win the Pacific Cup to be played in Nadi on November 24.

“Suva has not won the Pacific Cup since it started and that’s our next goal.

“We will remain with the same squad despite some of our players heading to New Zealand after the IDC.

“This year’s IDC was different because all teams came prepared for the tournament.

“A team like Navua, no one expected them to reach the final but they made it and were runners up.

“Fans thought that pool B was the pool of death but pool A was definitely the pool of death, because we cannot underestimate teams like Navua and Nadroga.

“These two teams lifted their game so overall we are happy with our performance even though the first game was not good but we picked up from our second game.”
