Set piece, defence and focusing are part of the equation, as the Rooster Chicken Fijiana side take on South Africa in their second World Cup pool game this Sunday.

As the two sides head into the match at the Waitakere Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand they are focused on a win.

Ranked 11th South Africa will not take debutants Fijiana lightly when they face each other for the first time.

Fijiana head coach Senirusi Seruvakula said his side must focus on their set pieces if they are to win.

“For this game we will be concentrating on ourselves by minimising our mistakes, we need to focus on doing the right things and the game against South Africa will take of itself,” Seruvakula said.

Changes

“This week we have been focusing on our set-pieces, these girls have put in a lot of effort on our the our scrums and line-outs.

“At the same time we are trying to understand our defensive pattern and how to use it.”

“South Africa will want to win because after playing against us they have England next.

“We’ve got the advantage heading into the game against South Africa; we need to worry about us first.

“I am yet to name our run on team; there will be some changes to test our combinations.

“I want to give some of these girls a chance to have a feel of how it’s like to play in the World Cup.”

He added that the team has been preparing well for their game against the South Africans.

“It’s a game that we are playing on a Sunday; it took us one long week to prepare for South Africa,” he said.

“There was a lot of learning that we took from the game against England; there is no excuse heading into the game against South Africa.”
