Don’t Be Afraid To Start: Raravula

“Being an entrepreneur comes with its own set of challenges,” says Helen Whippy Raravula.
Ms Raravula invested $100 to start her home- based sweet treats business in 2018 at Makoi in Nasinu. After nine months of running, she expanded her business and started making cheese cake.
“I had little knowledge about starting a business, so there was a lot of learning and research at the beginning stage,”Ms Raravula said.
As a small business owner, she finds it challenging but despite that she persevered, learnt through the journey, and grew.
The Lau native acknowledges her late mum and grandparents who played a big role in her upbringing.
Ms Raravula calls on young people to venture out and start a business of their own.
“If you’re thinking of starting a business, don’t be afraid to start small, try vending in a local market, give it a try and see how people like it,” Ms Liu said.
The key is to be able to bring value to your customers, solve problems or try to find a gap in the market that needs filling, keep trying and never give up.
