Uncontainable Mastercard Player of the Match of the Women’s World Cup match between 13th ranked South Africa and the 21st ranked Rooster Chicken Fijiana tighthead, Siteri Rasolea gave her fellow Fijians the platform to get over the line.
Fiji edged South Africa 21-17 on Sunday at the Waitakere Stadium, Auckland in New Zealand.
“It means the world,” Rasolea who was the star of the match for her powerful carries said after their first World Cup win.
“There are a lot of girls who have made a lot of sacrifices to be here today.
“I’m just so glad that we held it together for each other.
“We had a few girls who went down (with injuries) but our captain just said we had to play
for everyone who’s on the pitch and who didn’t make the team this week.”
Trailing 17-14 and a minute left for full-time, the Fijians won the restart through second fiveeight
Sesenieli Donu and halfback Lavena Cavuru passed the ball to Rasolea for her bulldozing run only to be brought down short of the tryline.
The South Africans were penalized and Cavuru took a quick tap and set-up No.8 Karalaini
Naisewa to crash over for the winning try.
But it was Rasolea, considering her huge frame played the full 80 minutes not only making
those strong carries but also falling back in defence.

93 Metres Run, 7 Defenders Beaten, 3 Offloads n Defence: 11 Tackles, 2 Mistackles Meanwhile, Rasolea in 2018/2019 played for Queensland Reds in the Super W competition.
She also captained the Queensland 7s and 10s teams to Australian national 7s and 10s tournaments.
