Fiji edged South Africa 21-17 on Sunday at the Waitakere Stadium, Auckland in New Zealand.

“It means the world,” Rasolea who was the star of the match for her powerful carries said after their first World Cup win.

“There are a lot of girls who have made a lot of sacrifices to be here today.

“We had a few girls who went down (with injuries) but our captain just said we had to play

for everyone who’s on the pitch and who didn’t make the team this week.”

Trailing 17-14 and a minute left for full-time, the Fijians won the restart through second fiveeight

Sesenieli Donu and halfback Lavena Cavuru passed the ball to Rasolea for her bulldozing run only to be brought down short of the tryline.

those strong carries but also falling back in defence.
