“It’s a great opportunity to play the number one team in the world, Ireland, followed by Scotland who is always hard to beat at home. The French Barbarians will be a very tough opponent,” Cotter said.

Veteran first five-eight Ben Volavola and winger Josua Tuisova have been dropped from the Flying Fijians squad for next month’s November Tour to Europe.

Head coach Vern Cotter said the No.10 duties are expected to be shared by Teti Tela and Vilimoni Botitu.

In another shock move is the inclusion of Semi Radradra who was still under injury rehab and Kini Murimurivalu in the squad.

Cotter said Murimurivalu has been having an excellent season with Leicester Tigers in the Gallagher Premiership.

Bayonne-based Sireli Maqala, Fijian Drua lock Leone Rotuisolia and Suva prop Livai Natave are expected to earn their first Test cap during the tour.

Japan-based Seta Tamanivalu, Meli Derenalagi, Vilive Miramira and Kitione Salawa were not considered because of injuries.

“It’s a great opportunity to play the number one team in the world, Ireland, followed by Scotland who is always hard to beat at home. The French Barbarians will be a very tough opponent,” Cotter said.

He added that these games are going to be the reference of what’s going to happen when the Flying Fijians play Wales, Australia and other Tier One teams during the Test matches and the World Cup next year.

“The players need to step up and these games will give us the references we need to work on especially on the Fijian Drua players,” Cotter said.

The Flying Fijians play Scotland on November 5 at Murrayfield, then Ireland on November 12 at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin and November 19 against the French Barbarians at the Stade Pierre in Mauroy, Lille, France.
