Nadi Town will be celebrating its 75th anniversary next month.

Chairman Nadi / Sigatoka Special Administrator Lawrence Kumar revealed this during their meeting with various stakeholders including the Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) on Thursday night.

Mr Kumar said that he has faith that Nadi will deliver a grand celebration for the event from November 21-26.

“This event will also promote Nadi as a tourist destination and also spread awareness on climate change.

“The celebrations have an element of history in marking 75 years since the formation of a town council in Nadi as a municipality,” he said.

“We have to celebrate that the township is a resilient and fast growing one.”

He said the budget to host the event has been put aside with some prominent business houses coming on board to make it a spectacular event.

Some of the highlights for celebrations will include a timeline museum, various sports, and to acknowledge various sporting heroes and champions that contributed immensely to the township since its establishment.
