Sewing business for Rohini Lata has picked up this year as she received more orders for Diwali wear.

Mrs Lata has been a tailor for the past six years, sewing a range of clothing for all occasions.

She said Diwali this year has been really good as she received a lot of orders for sewing Diwali wears.

“I started receiving Diwali orders two months ago and slowly I sewed two or three pieces every day,” she said.

“I had around 30 orders to complete last Friday and it was really good to see a lot of orders which helped my business.”

Mrs Lata sewed Diwali wear such as Sarees, Lehenga and Salwar kameez.

Last year during the pandemic, Diwali for Mrs Lata was not much as business was really slow.

This year although she is not celebrating Diwali because of the passing of her husband, she felt happy that business was good.

“There are a lot of activities and occasions happening that have also helped boost my sewing business such as pinktober, Diwali and other family functions,” she said.

As we are nearing the festive season, Mrs Lata said she would expect a lot of orders.

Mrs Lata lives with her daughters and extended family in 8 miles.
