FICAC To Provide Comprehensive Medical Report

The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) will provide a comprehensive medical report of SODELPA Member of Parliament Adi Litia Qionibaravi.
This is after FICAC Commissioner Rashmi Aslam informed the court that the current medical report before the court did not reveal Qionibaravi’s current medical status and whether she was fit to attend court.
The matter was called before High Court Judge Justice Dr Thushara Kumarage in the Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court at Suva on Wednesday.
Qionibaravi is charged by FICAC with one count of false information to a public servant and one count of obtaining financial advantage.
It is alleged that the MP breached the Parliamentary Remuneration Act of 2014 when she claimed travel and accommodation allowances, which she was not entitled to.
The allegation was brought to FICAC by the former Parliament Secretary-General, Viniana Namosimalua.
Qionibaravi is alleged to have falsely stated that her permanent place of residence was in Ucunivanua, Verata, in Tailevu, and allegedly obtained $15,480 between August 2019 and April 2020.
The matter will be called for mention on November 22.
