PM Assures People In Ra Province Of Better Welfare

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has assured people of Ra Province that issues raised during the talanoa session at the Provincial Council meeting would be looked into.
The meeting was held at Nanukuloa, Ra on Wednesday.
He said it was important for people to raise their queries during the talanoa session, especially when Government delegates were present.
Queries Raised
A representative from Nalawa had asked if a morgue would be built at Waimaro Health Centre.
Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete who was present at the meeting said there was no plan to construct a morgue for Waimaro Health Centre.
“We will collect data to see how many people live around the area and the number of deaths and then we will decide if there is a need or not,” he said.
“This is because we have a morgue for Nanukuloa and also in Rakiraki but we will look into it.
“This year’s budget does not include construction of a morgue at Waimaro Health Centre but if there is any changes we will let you know”

Dr Waqainabete added: “We still have a lot we have to do and that includes the Nursing Station at Nayavuira. There is a need to renovate and gate the nursing station. We will have to put aside an amount of money. We have to build a gate because we all know that animals have been entering the compound of the nursing station.”
“In Vunitogoloa, there is a need to renovate the nursing quarters because a nurse practitioner has started. A nurse practitioner is like a doctor,” he said.
Ra Provincial Administrator (PA) Elimi Rokoduru had advised the representatives from Nalawa that there were only two major water projects that were included in the
2022-2023 Budget.
The two major water projects will be at Vatukacevaceva and Burewai in Ra.
