Breakdown specialist, Richie Gray, is working with the Flying Fijians squad before their opening Test match against Scotland in Murrayfield, next Sunday (November 5).

This was confirmed to SUNsports yesterday by Fiji Rugby Union chief executive officer John O’Connor.

“Richie is in camp after missing out on the July Test matches in Suva,” O’Connor said.

The Flying Fijians had their first training run at the Moueix Stadium in Libourne, south western France. About 500 people turned up to watch the training session.

O’Connor also highlighted that the Europe-based players would be released to play for their clubs in this weekend’s competition.

“This is part of the regulation and the players who are released to play for their clubs will join the rest of the squad at their base in Scotland on Sunday.”

The Flying Fijians take on Ireland on November 12 in Dublin and the French Barbarians on November 19 in Lille, France.
