Former national women’s football head coach Lisa Cole is keen on bringing out the best of the Kulas.

Cole knows that the national women’s football side has a lot to unleash if placed and guided in the right direction. The American has coached the Kulas to their OFC Women’s Nations Cup hosted at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva. The Kulas finished second to Papua New Guinea.

Cole’s initial contract was for six months.

“My original contract was just for the duration of the World Cup qualifying. I was just forwarded the release and told I could reapply if I am interested. I am,” Cole said.

“I feel like every Kula has a ton of potential and can be the best in the Pacific with consistent programming and a player development plan.

“In my technical report to the Fiji Football after the OFC tournament – one of the things I highlighted was that it is important for the women’s national team to have a full-time qualified coach.

“The men have a full-time coach – Flemming Serritslev. “He’s working to develop the national team and regularly watching players in league games, helping coaches develop good training environment for the players, and growing the game in all areas along with Timo.

“I think it is important that someone is also doing this for the women; making sure that they are in good training environments, staying fit, developing individually so they can reach their potential. “I would love the opportunity to again work with these amazing women. “I’ll apply this week and hope for the best.”
