Cancer Society Thanks Nalagi For Support

Nalagi Hotel and Resort general manager Lu Wang knows too well the anguish of losing a loved one to cancer.
So when Pinktober was initiated by the Fiji Cancer Society, Mr Wang wanted to be there to help people suffering from cancer beginning from 2018.
“I was 27 years old when I lost my father to cancer in China,” Mr Wang said.
“It was very painful for me and the family to lose my dad so that is why I have given my support to Pinktober.”
“That is why I encourage my staff and the public to be aware of one’s health and do regular checkups.” Mr Wang said.
The resort donated $1000 on Friday to FCS during a function at its premises in Nadi where Fiji Tourism, Tanoa International Hotel and Soroptimist International personnel were in attendance.
Mr Wang said he got his female staff involved and made them aware of cancer.
Society secretary Milika Marshall while accepting the donation said the organization was humbled by the support from Tourism Fiji and Nalagi Hotel and Resort.
“This will increase the work to create more awareness on cancer.”
She said it was important to note that cancer was not hereditary as it could affect anyone.
“Get all information on cancer as it is not a disease anyone wants to go through.”
She said while Pinktober was earmarked for breast cancer awareness, it was also a time to think of other cancers.
