Unity Fiji is ready for the election.

Party leader Savenaca Narube said this after the announcement that the 2022 General Election will be held on December 14.

Mr Narube said they had announced 51 provisional candidates with four names yet to be announced. He said four provisional candidates of Unity Fiji have asked the party executives for their names to be announced later.

“They feared for their names to be announced as provisional candidates for the political party so they have requested their names to be announced later,” Mr Narube said.

When asked whether the four were former Government Members of Parliament or ex-civil servants, he said he did not want to cause speculations.

“We are prepared for the upcoming elections. We have announced 51 candidates. We have four other candidates yet to announce,” he said.

“We are holding that. There are some that do not want to be announced.”

He said the party would be releasing its manifesto on Friday.
