34 Complainants Of Alleged Sexual Offences Last Month

Thirty-four people were complainants of serious sexual offences last month. Twenty of those people were under the age of 18.

For the month of October, according to the data release by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, 39 people were charged with 93 counts of separate serious sexual offenses.

They included 67 rape cases, one attempted rape case, two abduction with intention to commit rape cases, four indecent assault cases, five defilement cases and 14 sexual assault cases.

There were 15 alleged incidents where the victims and the accused were related to one another.

There was one alleged incident where two 16-year-old boys were charged with the rape of a 14-year-old girl from their school.

In another alleged incident, a 16-year-old boy was charged with the defilement of a 14-year-old girl from his school.

A 15-year-old boy was charged with the rape of his 13-year-old cousin while in another incident, a 12-year-old boy was charged with the sexual assault of a four-year-old girl from his village.

There was one alleged incident where a 42-year-old man was charged with six counts of rape of his three-year-old daughter.
