Chan Urges Men To Get Check-up

As a man you should never be neglected, says Fiji Cancer Society chief executive officer, Belinda Chan.
Ms Chan made her comments while addressing guests at the launch of the Movember initiative at Vinod Patel, Center Point.
She said it was important that men were subjected to a valid supportive system when it came to cancer.
She also said it was important for people to spark conversations about cancer.
“You need to start having those conversations around your grog friends, drinking buddies, or maybe anyone whom you call a brother, have that conversation,” Ms Chan said.
“There’s nothing to fear, all you’re doing is just making sure that you present yourself early for early detection.”
Ms Chan highlighted that Fiji has an excellent set of medical professions who are committed and so passionate in the work they do despite challenges they face.
“Please if you value your life, family, start having those conversations, take yourself to the nearest health centre,” Ms Chan said.
“And if you’re not sure, make contact with us at the Fiji Cancer Society.”
