Defending champions Lautoka Blues received a major financial boost for the 2022 Pacific Cup.

The team received a hefty $21,000 in total sponsorship: $10,000 from All in One Builder and $11,000 from Design Engineering yesterday.

All in One Builder managing director Sulendra Raju said supporting local football was nothing new to him.

“We need to enjoy the game to its best level,” he said.

“A lot of funds are required to support the tournament going ahead.”

Lautoka Football Asssociation vice- president Muni Rajen thanked the two companies for coming on board.

“This is very important to prepare the team as a lot is at stake as we move in to defend the title once again,” Rajen said.

Lautoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed the pride exercised by the business houses.

“It is good to see that district pride is there with the business houses that do come on board to support the district team,” he said.

It is understood that top striker Sairusi Nalaubu, who was on a three-month trial with Czech Republic FK Pardubice will be back for the tournament.

Also, former Digicel national football coach Christophe Gamel will return to guide the Blues.

The tournament is from November 24-27.

Meanwhile, the pool draws of the Pacific Community Cup is scheduled to be held at the All in One Restaurant in Nadi today at 10am.
