Stage Four Survivor Shares His Ordeal

Sisa Tiko, 65, is advocating for cancer awareness after his brush with the disease.
He did not know much about prostate cancer until he was diagnosed in 2020.
His first experienced involved constant abnormal pains after visiting the lavatory to urinate.
“I experienced this pain going to the toilet frequently and I kept it to myself. I didn’t want to tell my wife or anybody else,” Mr Tiko said.
“So I resorted to herbal medicine, I kept on taking herbal medicine until it got worse.”
Mr Tiko said he knew nothing about cancer or the build-up of the symptoms.
“This year I felt the pain because the cancer had started to spread all over my body. I thought I was going to die,” he said.
“Then I went to the hospital where I was detected with stage four cancer. I asked the doctor if there was any other stage than this, the doctor replied that this was the highest and I needed an immediate operation.
“I was privileged to get operated in March this year.”
Mr Tiko is now advocating about prostate cancer during this Movember month.
He is encouraging other men to present themselves at their nearest medical centre for a check-up.
