Businessman And NFP Stalwart Switches Political Allegiance

Charan Jeath Singh has finally made a switch from National Federation to The People’s Alliance (PA).
This will be officially announced next week Monday by PA party leader, Sitiveni Rabuka, who is away in Australia.
However, people are already made aware about his party preference on social media through PA’s poster yesterday.
The 60-year-old businessman originally from Labasa Town contested the General Election under the NFP banner in 2018 and served as a Member of Parliament in the Opposition from the 1994 to 1999 for the same.
Background
He completed primary and secondary education at All Saints School and Labasa College.
Then he graduated from the Ardmore Flying School which is based in Auckland, New Zealand as a pilot in 1981.
He flew with Air Pacific and Air Fiji from 1982 to 1987 before deciding to start his own business venture.
Today, he is the managing director of Charan Jeath Group of Companies which he started with his wife 35 years back and it is made up of a diverse range of businesses including supermarket, hotels, real estate, manufacturing, recycling to name a few.
He has also served in the Labasa Town Council office for 12 years in total including six years as a mayor.
The father of two children contested in the 2018 General Election under the NFP banner.
