Good news for Vodafone users when traveling abroad and are in need of a MasterCard.

Vodafone Fiji Pte Ltd chief commercial officer, Ronald Prasad, while speaking at the Fiji Tech Summit 2022 revealed that Vodafone was now offering their customers a MasterCard which is simply attached to their individual M-PAiSA accounts.

Mr Prasad said globally, people were now moving to become a cashless society and that was exactly what was happening in Fiji.

He said Vodafone had a number of customers that were already piloting the MasterCard use which has been attached to their

M-PAiSA product.

“So what that means is everybody that could not previously get access to a MasterCard, debit card to be able to transact online or when they go abroad to use that card can now get that card from Vodafone and that is going to be attached or linked to your M-PAiSA,” he said.

“So as long as you have money in your M-PAiSA account, you can use that card to transact and that’s, you know, quite revolutionary in terms of what we can do and how we can bank some of the unbanked, people that do not have bank accounts particularly.”
