I want to be the change for youth, says All People’s Party provisional candidate, Mesulame Kurinacoba.

The 24-year-old is pursuing his degree majoring in History and Pacific Vernacular Studies at the University of the South Pacific.

Mr Kurinacoba said it was time for the youth to bring about changes in Fiji.

If elected into Government, he will focus on youth from the interior of Fiji and assist them gain employment.

“First of all I would like to create employment for those who are unemployed, especially those residing in the interior of the 14 provinces in Fiji,” he said.

“There is an increase in crimes in the nation due to unemployment, I want to be the change for youth and I believe that I will be their voice.”

 

PROFILE

Mr Kurinacoba is a young entrepreneur who hails from Korovou in the District of Nasikawa in Navosa Province.

He is the youngest child of eight siblings.

The young lad has recently opened his florist home-based outlet in Semo, Sigatoka in August called “The HillTop Flowers and Events”.

Mr Kurinacoba, who comes from a family of farmers, began his business in 2018 raking in funds to help him in finance his tuition fees.

“I have always wanted to become an entrepreneur,” he said.

“During the COVID-19 period, I was stuck in Suva and looked for ways to get money, so I was among the many vendors selling produce at the Suva Market for six months.”

 

Education Background

Mr Kurinacoba completed primary school education at Nasikawa District School in Korovou, then moved to Yale District School in Kadavu.

He attended Cuvu College in Sigatoka.

He also graduated in July from Service Pro International Tourism and Hospitality Institute in Suva where he studied caregiving and childmind.

Mr Kurinacoba hopes to complete his tertiary education at USP next year.
