Around 84 per cent of deaths in Fiji are caused by Non Communicable Diseases, it has been revealed.
The Ministry of Health and Medical Services permanent secretary, Dr James Fong, said the increase was caused by people not looking after their health well.
In comparison to the last seven years, the deaths were around 80 per cent.Interestingly, the Ministry is witnessing many young people dying from NCDs.
He said the Ministry was partnering with stakeholders to further address solutions.
