I can only thank God for his blessings on me, says Chandrika Prasad.

The 58-year-old is $50,000 richer after he was announced winner of the Mobil Diwali Cash Splash Promotion yesterday.

The promotion which ran for a few months was drawn by Fiji Sevens Rugby legend and two-time Olympic gold medalist, Jerry Tuwai at the Mobil Grace Road Veisari Service Station.

Mr Prasad, a retired truck driver lives in Nadi with his son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.

“I was a farmer in Sigatoka before moving to Nadi about 20 years ago, from that time I have been a customer at Mobil service station.”

“I have won a few prizes before but this one is a miracle,” he said.

“This is worth all the sacrifices I had made before retiring three years ago driving trucks, forklifts and other big vehicles.”

Mr Prasad said he would be using the money to renovate his house in Nadi and also spending some time with his 80-year-old mother who lives in Nakasi.

Mobil Retail Sales and marketing manager, Jatin Kumar said, through the promotion, Mobil wanted to celebrate with their customers by giving back.

Along with Mr Prasad are 10 lucky winners who each received $1000 each.
