Seniors Retain Challenge Trophy

The Fiji Senior Golfers As­sociation side yesterday retained the Roger Prob­ert Challenge trophy for another year. The side defeated the Young Bucks 349/341 at the Fiji Golf Club in Suva on Saturday.

The Fiji Senior Golfers As­sociation side yesterday retained the Roger Prob­ert Challenge trophy for another year.

The side defeated the Young Bucks 349/341 at the Fiji Golf Club in Suva on Saturday.

Association president Vijay Madhavan said the Fiji Gas spon­sored annual event attracted 72 starters.

“It was a great and successful tournament,” Madhavan said.

He thanked Fiji Gas for their continuous support to the event.

Mens A grade: Eddie Yuen 32 points, Shaun Hw 34, Alipate Vo­saicake 36.

Mens B grade: Ashwin Nand 34 points, Russel Gibson 36, Eroni Mavoa 38

Men’s C grade: Mahendran Nair 35 points

Ladies: Agnes Managreve 35,Jes­sica Bestall 24, Sainimere Yee 37, women a –grade Lyndall Fisher, daughter of Roger Roberts.

Tuivuna claims Rum Co Fiji Pro-am

Meanwhile Suva based profes­sional golfer Tomasi Tuivuna took out the Rum Co Fiji Pro-am at the Denarau championship golf course on Saturday.

Tuivuna carded 140 in the two day event to walk away $1250 richer for his efforts.

Golf course manager Amitesh Chandra (142) settled for second place ahead of Lautoka school teacher Roneel Prakash who was tied with Anasa Seruvatu 146 each; the two packed $625 each into their wallets.
