$50,000 At Stake For The Fijian Cup 9’s Rugby League Tornament
Up for grabs in the biggest Fijian Cup 9s (rugby league) tournament is $50,000 that kicks off at Lawaqa Park on Friday, with the finals the following day.
According to tournament chief of operations, Epeli Tagivetaua, four teams from New Zealand are joining the locals for the $30,000 prizemoney at stake, for both the men and women divisions winners.
“Sixteen mens teams featuring 12 local and four New Zealand clubs will battle for the main prizemoney of a whooping $15,000 in the men’s division; while eight women’s teams will also contend for the main prizemoney $15,000 paralleled to the men’s prize pool,” Tagivetaua said.
