Let’s Go Local: Tukana Hopes To Fly An Aircraft To Vanuavatu

Since it takes 12 hours to travel to Vanuavatu by boat, Semi Tukana is hoping that one day he would fly an amphibious aircraft to his home island to reduce travel time.

Mr Tukuna is the founder of Software Factory Limited, one of the largest banking and pension fund software development firms in the South Pacific region.

It operates in Niue, Tonga, Samoa, Tuvalu, Kiribati, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and Fiji.

He is currently serving his second 3-year term as a Council member of the University of the South Pacific.

 

In 2001 he left the Fiji Development Bank to start his own software company which is now 21 years old.

Again in 2016 he started CloudApp Laboratories (PNG) Limited.

Last year, he launched another Social Digital Financial Platform, Sole Limited.

He brings to Sole’ more than 40 years’ experience in senior management of software companies with design and development experience across the financial services industry.

Mr Tukuna believes that financial literacy needs to be addressed and taught to every Fijian to direct them into the importance of savings.
