Fijians have been encouraged to reduce their reliance on imports and improve export opportunities.

In a recent partnership between the Ministry of Agriculture and British American Tobacco Minister for Agriculture Mahendra Reddy said there was a huge potential in Fiji’s export market.

“Our agricultural produce can be increased to assist the agricultural sector and its contribution to the economy by improving our balance of payment,” he said.

Mr Reddy was speaking during the Memorandum of Understanding signing on Grow+ (Plus) Programme with British American Tobacco at the BAT office in Votualevu, Nadi on Monday.
