“We are not thugs, we are not into thuggery, these people are and their supporters are because they are very desperate. There were also instances where people were hassled because they had used the party’s stickers on their cars."

A political party has called on FijiFirst general secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum to provide proof of allegations levelled at them.

This after Mr Sayed-Khaiyum claimed that desperate actions of thugs had been perpetrated by some opposition political party supporters.

Speaking at the FijiFirst rally on Wednesday, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said some people vandalised and threw mud on the party billboards. He said these of course are opposition supporters.

“The Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama’s photo was torn up,” he said.
