A woman in his 70s passed away at the Labasa Divisional Hospital on Saturday morning with the death regarded as a Leptospirosis incident.
A woman in her 70s of Vunika, Labasa was declared by health authorities as the latest Leptospirosis-related death recorded in the Northern Division.
She died at the Labasa Divisional Hospital last Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Suruj Wati and was admitted to the Coqeloa Health Centre last Friday morning and was on drips in an effort to recover.
At 12pm, she was transferred to Labasa Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
