Lanky flanker Meli Derenalagi is the new captain of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua to next season’s Super Rugby Pacific competition.

This was announced yesterday by Drua head coach Mick Byrne, indicating that players who were committed to the off season training programme got the nod to be part of the 38-member squad.

Byrne said Derenalagi was no stranger to the job since he had captained the Drua seven times during last season’s Super Rugby competition.
