Fierce debate has erupted over a statement that kaivalagi (foreign or Western) culture has contributed to young people’s growing anti-social behaviour.
National Federation Party (NFP) candidate Agni Deo Singh made the statement at a campaign meeting in Tacirua, Nasinu, on Monday night.
He said the Government had imposed the ‘kaivalagi’ (foreign or Western) culture on the Fijian education system, influencing children’s rights and affecting the way children learned in school.
