Minnows Botswana Wallops Fijian Pearls

Fiji Pearls ranked Number (No.) 15 in the world lost 60-43 to No. 31 Botswana, the tournament’s lowest-ranked team, in first day of competition of the Nations Cup 2022 in Singapore on Sunday.
Led by Vaiti Waqatabu the Fijian netballers could not get their act together as they played catch up right from the first quarter.
Fiji Pearls trailed 7-21 in the first quarter, managed 13 against Botswana’s 14 to lock the score 20-35 at half time. Fiji slotted in 11 against the Bots’ 13 to round up the third quarter 31-48 and they each scored 12 in the final quarter for the 43-60 full time score.
