Arshiya Kumar is glad to have followed in her older brother’s footsteps to grab the Year Eight dux award during the Waiqele Primary School prize giving ceremony on Monday in Labasa.

Accepting her award, the 13-year-old of Waiqele, Labasa thanked her parents for their guidance, both of whom are primary school teachers. She scored 571 out of 600.

“My father, Gyanendra Kumar attended this school and today he is a teacher in the same school,” Arshiya said.
