Asena Lewaca.
Nananu villager, Asena Lewaca, says she is voting because she wants to see a better Fiji.
Ms Lewaca, 68, made the effort to walk from her home in the Ra-located village with her walking stick to the pre-polling venue at the village’s community hall on Tuesday to cast her vote.
She has difficulty in walking because she is often weak from her hips down to her feet.
She was accompanied by her daughter, Makereta Rokolau, who also cast her vote.
“Before I became like this, I was weaving and selling mats as my source of income,” she said.
The mother of four children said she was sure the number of the candidate she selected would win in this year’s General Election.
