The Fiji Labour Party Says It Will Assist Farmers With Renewal Payments

The Fiji Labour Party has promised to assist sugar cane farmers with their land renewal payments if they form Government after the 2022 General Election.
Party vice-president and National Farmers Union president, Surendra Lal, said concerns were raised by farmers during a recent election campaign meeting at Natua and Solove in Seaqaqa.
Mr Lal claimed 80 to 90 per cent of sugar cane farmers’ land leases in the Seaqaqa sector would expire by 2024-2026.
