National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) is encouraging the public to take necessary precautions against the deadly virus of Leptospirosis.
The advise follows the recent floods around the country that happened last week and over the weekend.
“Following a flood, affected communities are usually exposed to health risks such as Leptospirosis, Typhoid, Diarrhea & Dengue (LTDD),” NDMO said.
“Ensure that you and your families are protected from ‘Leptospirosis’. Some safety tip may include, keep your livestock away from your homes, cover your foods at all times and avoid swimming in creeks that may be contaminated from animal waste or urine.”
