Monitor Weather Warnings Closely: Police

The Fiji Police Force has advised the general public to keep monitoring the weather situation and advisories issued by the Fiji Meteorological Service.
According to Chief Operations Officer (COO) Acting Assistant Commissioner A/ACP Livai Driu, officers are on standby to assist those impacted by flash flooding.
A/ACP Driu reiterates that those living near rivers and creeks are to remain vigilant and keep a close watch over their children.
Members of the public are advised to refrain from swimming in swollen rivers and crossing flooded roads.
In the same margin of advise, motorists are encouraged to adopt safe driving practices to avoid accidents as visibility will be limited and roads conditions a safety threat.
A/ACP Driu further stressed the earlier warning for everyone to take heed of the weather advisories and repeated calls made to be safe, as complacency will lead to injury or loss of life.
