The permanent appointment of all civil servants with the phasing out of contractual appointments topped the agenda of the Public Service Commission’s (PSC) first meeting in Suva yesterday.

Newly appointed chair of the PSC and former long- time civil servant. Luke Rokovada, made this revelation in an interview yesterday.

He said the commission had agreed on the removal of contractual appointment for all civil servants and the extension of the retirement age to 60 years for submission to Cabinet.
