Road Accident Claim One Life, Lands Two In Hospital

Yesterday afternoon, a motor vehicle accident in Malake, Rakiraki claimed the life of a 64-year-old farmer from Korowaqa, Rakiraki.

It is believed that he was driving when the alleged incident occurred.

The victim is said to have lost control of his car, leading it to veer into the opposing lane and collide head-on with another car being driven by a 35-year-old man and his 32-year-old wife.

Both have been admitted to the Rakiraki Hospital after suffering injuries.

Investigations will continue, and a post mortem will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Currently, there have been 1 road fatalities compared to zero during the same time period previous year.

Police are once more urging drivers to drive cautiously and be on the lookout as more rain is predicted over the next few days.

Plan your route in advance to prevent speeding, and take all essential safety precautions because visibility will be poor during periods of intense rain and the slick road conditions will be a threat to your safety.
