Douglas Fiji Plants Mangroves In Korotogo

The staff and management of Nadi-based Douglas Pharmaceuticals Fiji Limited took the initiative to protect part of Fiji’s ecosystem by planting mangroves seedlings along the Korotogo coastline at Sigatoka last month.

The staff and management of Nadi-based Douglas Pharmaceuticals Fiji Limited took the initiative to protect part of Fiji’s ecosystem by planting mangroves seedlings along the Korotogo coastline at Sigatoka last month.

Company general manager Wayne Lancaster said mangroves were not only helping offset carbon, but its only strengthening our marine life’s especially the pristine fish species.

Mr Lancaster said mangroves were the unsung heroes of coastal habitats in the fight against climate change as mangroves can store up to four times more carbon than rainforests.
