Cogea Village in Bua Province will be the first in Fiji to be a part of a community-led relocation project funded externally.
The $3 million fund from Brot fur die Welt, a Germany-based Non-Government Organisation (NGO) was secured by Fiji Council of Social Services (FCOSS).
During the first stakeholders meeting for this relocation project called Cokonaki Cogea at the Friendly North Inn in Labasa last Friday, Fiji Council of Social Services executive director Vani Catanasiga said the construction of houses would begin around the middle of this year.
