It is believed that a five-year-old child drowned yesterday while swimming in a pool at a hotel in Nadi.
The incident happened while the victim was swimming with his cousins.
Investigations continue.
Currently, 7 people have died from drowning, compared to 2 during the same period last year.
Fiji Police is again stressed the significance of attentive supervision and the necessity of never leaving kids unattended.
