Incoming Wallabies boss Eddie Jones says he sympathises with sacked coach Dave Rennie and warned England that retribution is firmly on his mind ahead of a “re-marriage” with Australian rugby.
In an exclusive wide-ranging interview with the Sydney Morning Herald and Nine News, Jones has revealed the moment he knew a return to Australia was on the cards and detailed what it is going to take to revive the Wallabies after years of underwhelming performances.
Jones has also declared he wants to poach some of the NRL’s best talent – including three Australian schoolboy rugby prodigies – much like he did with Wendell Sailor and Lote Tuqiri before the 2003 World Cup.
