Re-Employed Civil Servants, Fiji Unions Welcome Change
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka said this was considered for teachers, doctors and nurses as the cabinet had noted many vacancies and chronic shortage of people in these three professions.

Retired primary school teacher, Bal Sanju Reddy, is excited to be given a chance to return to the classroom this year to continue with his teaching career.
This was after cabinet approved that the increase in retirement age from 55 to 60 be applicable to teachers, doctors and nurses that retired from January 1, 2022.
