Unions Call For Reinstatement Despite A-G Saying Re-employment

Reinstatement is what the unions (representing civil aviation workers) want.

Those were the comments made yesterday by the Fiji Flight Attendants Union (FFAU) and the Federated Airlines Staff Association (FASA) in relation to the comment made by Government.

Last week Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka said former staff of Fiji Airways and Air Terminal Services (ATS), who were  sent home during the COVID-19 pandemic, were to be reinstated.

On Monday, Attorney-General Siromi Turaga, during his press conference, said: “re-employment”.
