Fiji has a lot to offer, and tourists are coming back for more of these beautiful sceneries. Apart from his financial works, Kaushik Maharaj also loves to travel.

He is the chief financial officer for South Pacific Fertiliser based in Lautoka.

He joined 16 years ago as an attaché and climbed up the ranks gradually.

He has overseen the changes in the institution with the assistance of his chief executive officer.

SPF has progressed over the years with the introduction of new softwares from the usage of Soft Pay to Windows, to MYOB, and the latest version now is Sage software.

Mr Maharaj said when he first joined they had limited computers, now they have improved the technical support and made laptops available to each employee.

“They can work from home using their own laptop, and the work environment is more user friendly which encourages people to come to work.”

Where in Fiji have you been to?

I have been all over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, Ovalau, Taveuni.

Where’s your favourite place for coffee?

Coffee Hub.

They are the most popular in the West. And I am glad they’re opening in Suva soon.

Taveuni, the untouched paradise.

What’s your backyard sport?

Bowling.

In my free time I help in the uplift of the bowling club in Lautoka, and also take the initiative in promoting our bowling club in our area.

Where in Fiji is on your bucket list?

I would love to visit the Yasawas.
