Island Fishers Undergo Training And Assistance On Use Of FAD

Fishermen from maritime islands, Kia, Galoa, Yaqaqa and Tavea in the Northern Division, are now equipped with knowledge and skills on the use of Fishing Aggregated Device (FAD).
This is after the technical assistance and support was provided by the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations through the Ministry of Fisheries.
Over a two-week training conducted at the islands by the FAO consultant and Captain Ned Hill, these fishermen who were severely affected by the two tropical cyclones Ana and Yasa were enlightened.
