Pacific Islands Development Forum (PIDF) secretary-general Solo Mara has been acquitted of charges of disobedience of a lawful order and giving false or misleading information.
Mara was charged in his capacity as the former Fiji’s Ambassador to the United States of America and diplomat by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC).
In the charge of disobedience of lawful order, it was alleged that Mara had disobeyed the lawful order of a search warrant issued by the Court by refusing to comply with the warrant on January 24, 2020.
